Tribal Beliefs or Vibrational Living:
The Gifts that Keep on Giving!
If you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or already tired at the thought of preparing for the holiday season, I want you to examine your tribal beliefs regarding holidays. Tribal beliefs can cause you to behave and feel in ways that might not be in alignment with your energetic blueprint and in fact, may even directly oppose it.
For example, some tribes consider stress a natural part of the holidays. In these tribes if you aren’t feeling stressed, there’s something wrong with you. It’s expected that you be overly busy and running breathlessly to get everything done. Other tribes teach that you should be excited and infused with the holiday spirit, and something is wrong with you if you don’t feel warm and fuzzy this time of year.
Have you ever asked yourself, what you want for the holidays? What raises your vibration? Perhaps a quiet dinner with just your family? How about sleeping in and decadently watching a movie? Have you considered volunteering your time for those less fortunate, but couldn’t find the time because of other obligations?
Guess what? You are in charge of your holiday season. There is a simple way to change the outcome of this holiday season, or any other aspect of your life that you want to be happier. It’s called living vibrationally and it’s the quickest and best way to instantly change your life for the better.
Trusting your vibration means that you place your faith in your spirit, to tell you what is right for you, rather than what you’ve been taught you should do and how you should feel. I hear from many of you who are learning to trust your vibration to guide your decisions, rather than your tribal beliefs and the joy you are experiencing as a result.
It’s such a simple, revolutionary concept: do things this season that raise your vibration and feed your spirit. You know what they are: these are the things that make you feel happy, excited, and alert and give you more energy than you expend. This is how you feed your energy system which is the source of your health, your vitality and your passion for life. It’s how you come into alignment with your spirit.
Take the Mann family. Each year they held a Christmas brunch replete with fun and games. The only problem was that somehow, curmudgeons wormed their way on the invite list. The Mann’s worked hard to help these curmudgeons enjoy themselves. The end result was that the Mann’s were exhausted and didn’t have a great time at their own party. Last year, they decided to can the brunch and do what raised their own vibration—spending quality family time, having fun in a spontaneous way, and avoiding curmudgeons, sour elves, and grouchy gnomes. They are excited about their new way of enjoying the holidays! They don’t feel resentful, stressed, or drained with dread about the holiday season. By being true to themselves, they’re simply having fun.
I know what you are going to say: “but there are certain things I simply HAVE to do.” And you are correct; there are. However, that doesn’t mean you stop taking care of yourself or your family just because you have to visit great aunt Mildred who likes to gossip and malign others. You can visit and avoid the gossip. Try saying you’d like to talk about other things.
You might feel you have to have dinner with relatives you don’t enjoy, and even feel resentful about it. Again, simply take care of yourself. Must you be there for the whole dinner? Or can you drop by for dessert? Do you have to sit next to people who complain or can you seek out other tablemates? The point is to make different choices. And yes, there are many choices that you can make that can feed your spirit.
When you feel trapped and resentful it is a clear sign that you have not taken care of yourself.
In any situation where you feel trapped or resentful I can absolutely guarantee that there is some way in which you have not taken your needs into account, nor fed your spirit—because you have been trapped by the tribal gift that keeps on giving, year after year until you choose to rewrite your tribal beliefs.
How do you feed your spirit? By taking back your power.
1. Identify what you did that drained your energy [like listen to gossip].
2. Identify why you feel resentful [how you neglected to take care of yourself].
3. Make a different choice by changing what you are doing.
4. Commit to yourself that you will always remember to treat yourself with respect by taking care of your needs.
5. Be in charge of your happiness by evaluating all the things you dread or resent and making different choices.
Remember that your vibration, high or low, has a ripple effect on those around you. In other words, you can contribute to the world’s joy, compassion, and laughter, by being in alignment with your spirit. It’s that simple. The choice is yours what you will give this holiday season.
Me, I’m giving the gift of a high vibration and spreading it around the planet. Won’t you join me?
