Christel's Corner: Sacred Choices

:: CHRISTEL'S CORNER ::

SACRED CHOICES

I have witnessed thousands of miraculous healings during workshops and Readings. Many of these have occurred by the change of one limiting belief. In that A-Ha moment, people are liberated from a lifetime of guilt and unhappiness, by courageously making choices based on the voice of their spirit, not their tribe. A particular woman comes to mind from the northwest region who had dropped out of medical school because her tribe believed that “pediatricians aren’t real doctors,” and convinced her to study oncology instead. The problem was, that oncology lowered her vibration and did not make her happy. Her conflict between listening to her tribe and heeding the call of her spirit drained her so much, that she dropped out of medical school.

During a workshop, she realized that she really wanted to be a pediatrician, and that she could easily change her tribal belief. She did, and returned to medical school. She is now ready for her licensing exam and is thrilled to be following her path and purpose in life. These are her own words about her life after changing just one limiting belief: “…a dream has come true, everything just seemed to fall into place, what a beautiful adventure and joy this is.”

Changing just one limiting belief can lead you to your happiest and best life possible. My new book “Sacred Choices: Thinking Outside the Tribe to Heal Your Spirit,” [Random House-In bookstores November 7, 2006] can help change your life in an instant, the same way people heal in a workshop. It is based on years of research compiling the limiting beliefs contained in the human energy system. I wrote it to further my goal of teaching people to heal themselves.

Sacred Choices will help you to identify and change your personal limiting tribal beliefs—the beliefs that lower your vibration, make you feel guilty, and cause internal conflicts that can lead to emotional, physical and spiritual distress. Here is an excerpt:

“…Let’s say that you have always dreamed of having someone to really love, someone who would really love you. When you grow up and start looking for a partner, however, people begin telling you that a good relationship takes a lot of hard work and constant compromise. Your parents say so, your friends say so, and you have heard it on TV or read it in books and magazines. So you believe it. And your strong belief sets you up to attract a partner who will be a lot of work.

Fortunately, your soul knows better. Your soul knows you can have a relationship that’s fun and easy [just ask Donna!] Your soul wants you to find a partner who brings you joy every day, who delights in your love and laughter, and who also believes that a good relationship can be easy. This sets up a conflict between what you believe (and are therefore willing to allow in your life) and what your soul wants for you. Conflict with your spirit always takes its toll. It takes energy to ignore the call of your spirit. It drains you and weakens your system.

One day you meet someone you are attracted to. You date, you fall in love, and you see your dream coming true, even though it can be hard to get along with them at times—you fight, have different temperaments and interests, and don’t much like each other’s friends. Instead of dating other people, though, you persevere in trying to make your new relationship work. That takes even more energy.

Eventually you get engaged to this person. The relationship continues to be a lot of work, but as long as you give in most of the time, it’s still a good relationship. Right? Pretty soon you start to notice some troubling symptoms. Sometimes your vision blurs, and often you are tired. You chalk it up to your hectic schedule. Maybe you get a tingling or numbness in your hands and feet. Minor stuff, you think, nothing to worry about. So you marry, start a family, and continue to struggle with trying to have the wonderful relationship you know is possible. Your dream isn’t coming true, though, and unbeknownst to you, your symptoms start moving toward full-blown illness. The years go by, the kids are now in school, and your marriage continues to take a lot of effort to stay on course. Nothing seems to be easy about it. But long ago you resigned yourself to the hard work “required” by a good relationship, so you hang in there, even though you feel sort of trapped and unhappy. Then one day your doctor diagnoses you with an autoimmune disease. (One of the energetic precursors to autoimmune disorders, is an inability, refusal or otherwise, to enjoy life; most often caused by strong loyalty to a limiting tribal belief).

When you adhere to a tribal belief that is hurting you—like “relationships are hard work,” or “pediatricians aren’t real doctors,” and you emotionally defend it and cling to it, your spirit inevitably suffers. After a time, this violation of your spirit becomes more pronounced, but easier to accept. Eventually the disconnection with your soul becomes automatic and unconscious, and your mind, body, and spirit are out of balance; perhaps you even develop some sort of illness.

If you wish to live harmoniously with your soul, you must examine those tribal beliefs that limit your happiness and choose for yourself what is right for you. Your choice should be based on the spiritual voice inside of you, not simply what you were taught is true. For example, while it sounds true that hard work is the way to reap financial rewards, the truth is, it is not always true or necessary.

Becoming aware of your tribal beliefs will begin the process of giving your spirit a voice, and your spirit will never mislead you. Living from your spirit leads to healing of the mind, body, and soul. Simply put, listening to that voice means making a sacred choice to do and believe things because they make your heart sing!

Your sacred responsibility is to honor your spirit and make choices that eliminate conflict so that you can get on with your true purpose in life…”

If you feel like something is missing from your life, often feel trapped or conflicted, are ready to live your life and not someone else’s, or you just aren’t as happy as you know you can be, this book is for you. Even illness has been healed by eliminating the conflict caused by ignoring your spirit in favor of your tribal laws. If you are ready to take a leap forward in your spiritual journey, please go to your favorite bookstore and preorder “Sacred Choices.”
