Christel's Corner: What Is a Priority Task?

Dear Christel & Rebecca: Is there an energetic cause for weight gain?

:: CHRISTEL'S CORNER ::

WHAT IS A PRIORITY TASK?

When I do a Reading on your energetic blueprint, I always receive your Priority Task. A Priority Task is an action taken in the physical world that carries a healing vibration specific to you. In other words, it’s something you can do here and now that will heal your spirit, raise your vibration and bring you into alignment with your soul. The completion of your Priority Task changes your energetic blueprint and opens you up spiritually.

I am able to receive this Priority Task because when I do a Reading, I read your vibration, overall chakra health, level of past wounds, prominent archetypes, I see a video of your past, and I pray to the Holy Spirit for your highest good. The Priority Task heals a wound sustained earlier in life and unlocks the door to changing your energetic blueprint to the highest vibration possible.

The Priority Task has a huge impact on a person and most people have a strong reaction when they receive it. Some people are deeply relieved and see it as freedom from a past that has haunted them, some cry because it makes them face something painful that has not yet healed, others dismiss it as too simple, and some are horrified because it reflects a part of themselves that they have submerged into their shadow. Not infrequently people want to trade their Priority Task with someone else. But always, when a person completes their Priority Task, their blueprint, and thus, their life changes dramatically.

A woman came to me with a serious illness that was debilitating and disabling her. Her Priority Task was not to change her diet, exercise or to take herbs or alternative medicine. It was to learn to cook. She later told me she cried for six hours after receiving this news; it was so upsetting to her. When she was seven, her mother had become very ill, and unable to care for the family. My client was expected to cook, clean, run the house and care for her younger sibling. Overwhelmed by sadness, responsibility and fear, she did the best she could. Her father would criticize her meals, not overtly, but with critical looks that tore through the fabric of the young girl’s heart. As she grew up, she deftly avoided all opportunities to learn how to cook.

Now, you wouldn’t think that learning to cook would help someone heal from a serious illness, but it did. Not only did she become quite good at it, she learned to enjoy it and oh yes, she is completely well today. It involved further Priority Tasks to achieve a complete recovery, but without her completing the first one, no further healing would have been possible.

A Priority Task always heals you on many levels. It doesn’t need to be analyzed, only completed. Sometimes it is something serious, like leave your marriage. But even in those cases, people already knew in their heart what they needed to do. Some of the tasks are profoundly simple which is very irritating to those who have a tribal belief that enlightenment or spiritual awakening must be serious, difficult and only reserved for those willing to sacrifice things like happiness, love and abundance. Sorry to disappoint you, but it really is easy and fun!

Everyone always wants to know what Priority Tasks are like. So here's a few I've seen over the years: stop saying "I'm sorry", refrain from doing anything for anybody else for 30 days, swim with the dolphins/whales, sing, have an opinion, set a boundary, leave your practice, learn to cook, go shopping and buy new clothes to reflect your femininity, start taking care of yourself (speak up for what you need/want), stop being a victim, stop energetically manipulating other people, become aware of your saboteur (one of the four archetypes we all share), don't marry this person, stop prostituting yourself, drive a racecar (no, it wasn't for a guy!), start taking care of yourself, decide if you really want to be here for you, not for someone else.

I often receive the Priority Task early in a Reading, if not immediately. At that point, the Reading is basically finished, because it is the completion of this task that will unlock a person’s soul. The job is yours at that point, to go out and change your life. And it is this Task that will give you freedom to be who you are, do what you want to do and feel loved by God.

:: DEAR CHRISTEL AND REBECCA ::

IS THERE AN ENERGETIC CAUSE FOR WEIGHT GAIN?

This month our question comes from Wendy, Lancaster, PA

Q: It's right after the New Year and it seems that it's time to start trying to lose those 3 pounds that I gain every year but never seem to take off before the next year and the next 3 pounds.
Is there one particular chakra or issue that you find correlates to why we put on the weight but can’t seem to take it off. In your book, (Diary of a Medical Intuitive), you mentioned there are the same repeating issues that are related to prostate cancer and breast cancer. I wasn’t sure if you noticed the same thing for weight issues? Keep up the good work, we need it.
(Wendy, Lancaster, PA)

Christel: Weight loss problems are a combination of first, second and third chakra issues. For example, if you don’t feel safe being seen, [1] if you are living in your past wounds and feeling resentful--perhaps trying to prove that you are a nothing just the way your parents told you, [2] or if you don’t feel you deserve to look good and show yourself off, [3] you will have great difficulty in losing weight. Once you resolve the emotional and spiritual issues of these chakras, the fifth chakra becomes the ruler of your body. Now, making the choice to lose weight is a snap. In other words, the fifth chakra issue (making a choice) is no longer a problem. Please note, however, that if you have a pesky tribal belief that includes: "weight loss requires hard and diligent work," you will sabotage your visualization of the new and lighter you. If you define "diet" as a type of deprivation, or a state of perpetual hunger, or a rigid time of denying yourself pleasure, again look at those tribal beliefs. Otherwise your path to losing weight will take longer than need be, and lack any fun or joy.

Rebecca: Wow, a fat chakra, what a fun idea! Seriously, this is one of those things that is pretty straight forward. At the risk of angering anyone who feels victimized by their weight, the bottom line is it's about choice. Choice to accept ourselves and be happy even though we might not have the tribally accepted perfect body, choice to change it if we don’t like it and choice to enjoy ourselves anyway, even if we are choosing to exercise and diet! Also, the healthier that third chakra is (the relationship we have with ourselves, our courage and self-esteem) the easier it is to either love ourselves as is or to take care of ourselves by changing what we don’t like.

I also think that self love will guide us to the right food plan or exercise regime that is perfect for us. Thank goodness we live in a time when awareness of nutrition and exercise is at an all time high. I also think that self love is not rigid – black and white thinking is probably responsible for more fitness/diet failures than anything else. So, enjoy life, fill that third chakra all the way and get rid of any tribal thinking that says it has to be hard, unpleasant or a struggle.

It is interesting though, other people’s reactions to you losing weight. I was at the gym the other day and a woman who knows I am getting in shape as part of my New Year’s theme, asked me how it was going. I told her I was thrilled with my results so far and that it had been surprisingly easy, no big deal really. She looked at me quizzically, then walked away. Sometimes you are alone for a little bit when you leave the tribe by making something easy that the tribe says is hard.
