We had a blast at the Adventure Retreat in Ketchum this year. There were lots of transformations, aha’s, changed lives, and profound healing.
We are so proud of you and this year, there were even more people who challenged themselves to make it to the 10,000 ft peak of Baldy! And in record time, too!
The first slide show of your adventures is on the announcements page with our teaching sessions, burning ceremony, welcome dinner, St. Jude hike, healing work, morning coffee rituals and interesting and courageous good times with each other.
Many of you had a good time laughing at how the prayer cards are truly magical, always coming at the exact right time for each person. We heard many stories of people picking their card, not liking it, putting back in the deck (I mean, no one’s looking, right?), re-shuffling and then drawing the same card again!
Anyway, we received this story recently from Lynn and had to pass it on to you, it is such a perfect reminder of how God talks to us and how our guidance is sometimes so very different from what we think it ought to be, and yet, if we follow it, everything comes out ten times better than before. This is from Lynn:
[I've been challenged lately with being out of work for 9 months and lending a family member several thousand dollars to get out of an immediate "jam". This family member has conveniently disappeared from the face of the earth. This morning I was particularly irritated over the situation and my inability to get over it already.
Every fiber of my body knew I had to let it go so I got on my knees and prayed! A few seconds into my prayers, I spotted my deck of Christel cards on my night table. Ah-ha, God was talking to me. I took my deck, shuffled it and picked. What came up was FUN. Well, that put me over the top. I was screaming at the top of my lungs; "This is what you want me to do? I pray for peace and You tell me to have Fun? I have no job and no money and you want me to have FUN?” There were some expletives involved.
I got off my knees, still raving, and suddenly realized that I don't know how to have fun and I began to actually think about it. So, I thought, fun, that usually involves laughter and I started to make myself laugh. I laughed, louder and louder and harder and harder for several minutes until my anger subsided a bit.
I went back into my room a few moments later, after having decided that I really picked the wrong card the first time, and decided I'd pick the right card this time. The next card I picked was LAUGHTER.
No need to say more. The cards broke my pattern of anger and I was able to get on with my day.
I just wanted to share that with you and to say THANK YOU and God Bless you both.]-Lynn
Congrats to all who hiked to the top of Mt. Baldy. You perservered, you laughed, you learned about archetypal natures, and you challenged yourself and succeeded.
Special kudos to:
-
Way to go, grasshopper and Princess Muffin on your determination to make it to the top of the mountain. Well done!

Hooray for all of you para gliders who flew to new heights and braved the Aussies, and then were celebrated with wine at your landings.
-
Yahoo to all who burned their pride, and released into the fire that which held you back from the real you such as walls, pain, hurt, attachment to outcomes, anger, fear, limiting tribal beliefs, and the inability to forgive oneself. Freedom is yours.
